Gorakh Kamble, a daily wage worker, was met with a dire accident that disabled him. He required an immediate implant in his hip joint to prevent further pain and complications. However, during the pandemic he had no means to get money.
To make matters worse, he was the sole breadwinner of the family. Every extra day he spent waiting for his surgery meant another day of leaving his family to fend for themselves.
Thankfully, Mahavir Manav Seva Trust, a Pune based Trust was assisting him to cover the funds for the surgery. However, the hospital didn’t have the necessary equipment to conduct the surgery, prompting us to pitch in. We raised a total of Rs. 16500 for the equipment, in our first ever project!
Fortunately, the hospital purchased and collected the necessary equipment in time for the surgery. The surgery was also a success! Gorakh is now able to continue on with life, and support his family.
